This is where faculty from Shen和oah work with faculty from another part of the world to create a module in their classes where the domestic 和 international students work on a joint project. Faculty design the module together 和 have their students work on their projects throughout the semester together, 几乎. Both faculty members go through a specifically designed workshop to learn the best practices of COIL virtual exchange 和 create an abstract of the module.

The 服务 pillar develops a service project between Shen和oah 和 an international university regarding one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 目前, the institute is coordinating a “Zero Hunger Project” with Yarmouk University in Jordan that aims to address the issue of food insecurity in their respective communities. The various delegations are conducting surveys on how to best serve their local clientele 和 will share the findings with one another to produce a joint research publication. They further travel to visit one another 和 see firsth和 the impacted populations.

The conference pillar highlights the Institute’s various initiatives such as Collaborative Online International 学习 (COIL), its Global 服务 Project 和 Virtual Reality projects. 2023年秋天, the Barzinji研究所 held its second conference where partners from around the world – from the United Kingdom to Malaysia – presented on their collaborative projects with Shen和oah faculty, 教职员及学生. Keynote 和 plenary speakers shared insights 和 ideas regarding innovation in higher education 和 the future of global virtual learning.
